Maureen FitzSimons, better known as Maureen O'Hara in America, was a child prodigy. This was a very natural trait for a girl of Irish origin, and who was nurtured in her early days by talented relatives and parents. Maureen joined this wonderful haven in Ranelagh, Ireland on August 17th, 1920. Marguerita Lu. FitzSimons made a name for herself with her contralto. The father of her, Charles FitzSimons, managed a business in Dublin as well as owned a part of the renowned Irish football team "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen FitzSimons' is the 2nd FitzSimons child. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen excelled as a sportswoman and was a gruelling athlete in games as a child. This passion and her gift to perform was impressive. She took home almost every Feis Award for Theatre and Drama which her nation had to provide. Her acceptance at the Abbey Theater by age 14 as she was able to fulfill her goals of opera as well as classical theater and singing.
